Feed a Neighbor – Who We Are
When Covid-19 shut down our country, it affected everyone. None knew where their next paycheck would be coming from. We all felt and continue to feel the loss caused by Covid-19. As a result, we saw a need that had to be fulfilled. So, we started the Feed A Neighbor Program. This program provides high quality hot or cold meals for food-insecure individuals and families that have no way to provide it for themselves.
With the shutdown of the state, there was an increase of over 50% in the number of food insecure individuals. There are 1.6 million people in this state who do not know where their next meal is coming from.
This is a problem that needs to end now.
We have made it our goal to provide hope and a great meal to individuals where there may not be one, or when something bad has happened. We also want to be utilized as an additional avenue and resource for our communities which are already struggling to meet the demand.
“Feed A Neighbor, Inc. (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation) is more than just a program. This is something personal to me. I grew up poor and lived in State-Run Housing (projects). I know what being in a single parent household is like, as well as welfare, food stamps, and hand me downs. And many times being told ‘that’s all there is, you have no choice, eat it’,” Shared Stevie Dembro Founder and President of FAN.
“All of these things put together is what inspired the start of Feed A Neighbor Program. We want to take this moment to thank you in advance for your volunteerism and support. As a community, when we break bread together, HOPE HAPPENS. When we have a full stomach, it makes a difference.”
